"This Saratoga Springs-based band is like a million excellent, overlooked combos out there: a little too true to itself to fit into a major-label marketing scheme. Part Mersey Beat sweet, part power-punk rough, specializing in jumpy rock about love and messing up, the Figgs deserve to be making many girls scream and guys shout. Instead, the band is keeping afloat despite the recent departure of one songwriter, the bassist Guy Lyons, who got sensible and went back to school. The bill also includes Stupid Club and Front of Truck. Tonight at midnight; tickets are $7 (Powers)."
